Scoble Interview + Geek Dinner

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I was lucky enough to be invited along to a Geek Dinner which had some of the who’s who of the web 2.0/blogosphere including Robert Scoble, Dave Winer, Steve Clayton, Hugh MacLeod, David Sifry, Ian Forrester and probably lots more that I didn’t get a chance to talk with.

I turned up to the event an hour early having heard via the twitter-vine that people were getting there early, upon arrival the pub was absolutely packed (being Friday night in the middle of Soho/London) and I was thinking who I could txt/twitter/ring to find out who was who, but was saved when I heard someone say ‘RSS’, now who mentions RSS in normal conversation other than geeks? It turned out Hugh & Co were sitting outside (in the freezing cold), so having joined them got in extra drinks geek discussions ensued.

Interview

During the evening I did my quick ‘Elevator Pitch’ to Scoble who then whisked me upstairs (the event was being held on the 1st floor of a pub) and with the Scoble family in the background I got interviewed on camera. I had already had a couple of bottles of drink (not sure if this helped or hindered) but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Anyway here is the video embedded or you can view it and Scoble’s post here.

For those are interested I also did a recent post over on the fav.or.it blog that covered what we are doing with ‘Human powered blogopshere search‘.

Anyway, was a great event and I look forward to attending more geek dinners.

  1. Nick,

The couple of drinks may have just relaxed you enough to give an excellent presentation of your product that showed off its great features and your obvious delight in developing it. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I would love to participate in the beta so I can write it up for my blog. Cheers,

    Sprague D
