TechCrunch did an exclusive on fav.or.it yesterday. The main (and long) article is on TechCrunch UK plus a follow up (and shorter version) on the main TechCrunch site.
Alongside the TechCrunch coverage I also released the full details myself on the fav.or.it blog.

Thats how I found it.
I will also be doing a write up for oscandy.com which gets approx’ 30,000 visitors montly. I will also send a message to Patrick Alsoft of blogstorm.co.uk to do a write up also since he gets over 100,000 visitors on some months. We are also both UK based
On a side note. I like the concept of blogging on the system within favorit, however what would also better appeal is a feature similar to ’scribefire’. So scribefire is a firefox plugin which could be an option for favorit; but to at least to be able to write up to my own blog via the XMLRPC in favorit would be such a cool feature. This allows me to read rss feeds and write up to my blog from one platform

We will definitely be support posting into fav.or.it via XMLRPC, luckily XMLRPC is part of the Zend Framework so we have a good head start on it.

Not posting into fav.or.it but actually posting into my wordpress blog directly from within fav.or.it

Azzam, Sorry I mis-understood, it is something we have thought about, in fact as I am sure you are aware the XMLRPC for wordpress, blogger, livejournal, typepad all support sending posts (shame they are not quite so consistent about sending comments) so yes technically we can quite easily do it. The question is if it fits our overall plan to allow it.

It is something I would strongly recommend as part of the outfit. From a user-base perspective it will certainly provide a simplified platform, I would go to the extent of saying a ‘Getting Things Done’ platform for bloggers; indeed if it allows me to fullfill the mundane tasks of writing up my blog post.
Strategically it would need to be tackled from a variety of angles, ’scribefire’ is a browser plugin that accumulates less then 50% 0f the screen allowing you to blog-a-post whist the top portion is browsing a site; that advantage allows you thought process whilst writing. However the disadvantage is in the restriction of using other plugins i.e. tags, video, etc that are created by 3rd parties for blogs.
The argument is as you put it ‘whether it fits into the overall plan’. I think the question can be posed to a core set of users and if the response is in the positive then it could be developed. If the solution can support third party plugins (at least in their mechanical functions) then that would provide a powerful advance feature.
I for one would support this feature and would more then likely have a specific browser page open with fav.or.it most of the time I am on-line so I can upto date blog whist reading feeds, browsing, researching, etc. If there are more who think in a similar fashion the implications would be enormous…..
